A man known-ed as Mang Solar Demi introduced the solar powered bottles to light up homes from their area. Mang Demi Solar inventor of Isang Litrong LiwanagMang Demi uses a 1.5 litres plastic bottle, water some bleach, sealant to install the solar powered bottles bulbs from the roofs of his neighbors. As the result their electricity usage went down. Infact the solar powered bottle bulbs never heats up ,easy to install, affordable and very eco-friendly.


Once a sunlight goes thru the bottle bulb the water will refract it from different directions and can create up to 55watts amount of light. The concept was originally developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) students.

Later on, Illac Diaz from MyShelter Foundation created the ISANG LITRONG LIWANAG project with the aim of lighting up the houses of poor families along provinces, within Metro Manila, or even across the nation.

Today the Isang Litrong Liwanag project has reached more than 10,000+ homes and aiming to help 1 million homes by the year 2012.
