Wordpress 2.7.1

The dashboard and the new features rocks! Just want to share how I upgrade my WordPress engine on this blog. Its fast and robust, but I would not recommend for you to try it. :)
Heres what I did:
  1. Back up first, I backup everything via WordPress XML export, next I download the WordPress .SQL from my PhpMyAdmin to have a total database backup
  2. I opened the WordPress 2.7.1 installer zip file FROM MY COMPUTER, extract the zip file then remove the folder WP-CONTENT. Then I renamed the file wp-config-sample.php into wp-config.php with the previous wp-config server settings. Then I zipped it again, and uploaded the ZIP
  3. Then on my CPANEL Filemanager, I manually select the folders and files of my previous WordPress 2.5. EXCEPT the uploaded 2.7.1 WordPress Installer Zipped file and the WP-CONTENT folder that contains my wordpress themes and uploaded pictures and docs,
  4. After selecting the old WordPress 2.5 files, I deleted them to make room for the new version
  5. I was exposing my files at my site, because I deleted index.php, so I am in a hurry of UNZIPPING my uploaded wordpress 2.7.1.
  6. After extracting the new version… I go to my WP Admin page, after login using my old username and password. The new dashboard has a prompt page, asking me to hit the UPGRADE button, to make some compatability updates on my WordPress 2.7.1 database.
  7. Its done!
Now everything works fine :) I know my upgrading process sucks. Let me know how do you upgrade your wordpress?

This is a replacement of my very first blog, a four years old blog gL3nnx.blogspot.com..,I said replacement because my blog was banned by blogger, they accusing me for placing malicious ads. I contact the blogger.com admins and ask for blog consideration… first, second , and third request was failed.. so using my blogspot checker hehe, I look for a short word ,easy to remember blogspot url, and i found freeplug.blogspot.com… Its like a link love blog, I am going to blog everything that looks cool.. I’ll blog about others post and I will blog current internet topics. etc..
