Marhgil posted an interesting SEO post: An evil way how to get one way links, and how it works! Hehe. I just want to share my thoughts and to discuss it more too hehe. The aim of this post is not to teach you how to make this one way link trick, but to become aware on this. So if you are going to link trade or if someone ask for a link trade. Do not be satified if you saw your link. Always check your link partner’s blog, blog rolls by viewing the HTML source code.

And check for the following:
rel=nofollow - Always check if your site url has a rel=nofollow attribute.
Example: <a href="http://www.yoursitedomain" rel="nofollow">your site domain</a>, if your site link from your link partner has a rel="nofollow" attribute, you are just wasting your site’s pagerank. Visit link condom for more info.


robots.txt - If someone ask for a link trade, always check his/her robots.txt if the reciprocal link page is listed on robots.txt Disallow pages . By default robots.txt is located on the root of a website domain.
Example: http://www.sitedomain/robots.txt
Heres a sample of robots.txt from this site. , Search engine bots (Google, MSN, Yahoo) are instructed not to follow links listed in a robots.txt file


<meta name="robots" content="index,nofollow"> - Just like robots.txt, creating a page with this meta tags will instruct the search engine bots to index the page but not to follow the links. Make sure your site links is placed on a page without this evil meta tags!


<IFRAME> - Another SEO trick used by most BH SEO bloggers to get one way links. They put the site links of their link partners inside an html file and call it using iframe. Then, they will list the link url of that html file in the robots.txt . Do not accept a link trade if your link is inside of an <iframe> page.

Page Redirection - A page redirection can be used to make those one way evil links. Putting the page redirection page inside a robots.txt will instruct SE Bots to stop crawling sites called by that page redirection.

Javascript / DHTML - Do not just accept the link trade if your site url was placed via: Javascript or DHTML. A Javascript document.write(”) or using Javascript event <a onclick(’location.href=’). etc..

FLASH - Yes Flash, since Flash can be used to create outgoing links.. It can be also use to create those one way evil links. hehe
The lesson is make sure your site link from your link partner’s site is using a clean <a href=, tag.
