50 Websites I'd Actually Recommend If You're Hunting for Remote Work
Okay so I keep getting asked this by a few friends who are trying to get into freelancing or remote work, so I figured I'd just write it all down properly instead of explaining it over and over on Messenger.
As a freelancer myself, I've gone through more job boards than I'd like to admit. Some I still use, some I tried once and never opened again, and some I only know about because other freelancers kept mentioning them in Facebook groups and Reddit threads. I'm putting together this list with all of that in mind, not just the obvious names everyone already knows.
I grouped everything by type since dumping 50 links in one giant numbered list helps nobody. Bookmark whichever section matches what you're actually looking for.

My Honest Take
Fifty sites sounds like a lot, but you're not supposed to use all of them at once. I'd pick three or four that actually fit your field, set up alerts on those, and check them consistently instead of bouncing around every site on this list every single day. That's the mistake I made early on. I kept opening new tabs thinking the "right" platform was somewhere I hadn't found yet, when really I just needed to commit to a few and build a decent profile on each.
Also, a heads up since I've seen this trip up a few people in our freelancer group chats: be careful with listings that ask for payment upfront or sound too good to be true. Legit clients don't ask you to pay them to start working.
If this list saved you some scrolling, bookmark it. I'll probably end up updating it again once a few of these sites inevitably change their names or get bought out, because that's apparently just how the remote job board world works now.
